A project where I redesigned the covers of all the Narnia books.
All are painted by hand using gouache paints. I also did the typography.
I have always been fascinated by book covers and especially children's books. With this work, I wanted to try redesigning the book covers of the Narnia books by C.S. Lewis to challenge myself in creating a coherent series of illustrations.
I made new covers with the goal of engaging children today, simultaneously evoking nostalgia in adults. To achieve this, I drew inspiration from the original illustrations and used an analogue medium; gouache, to achieve a handmade expression.
